SAY HELLO TO SOME OF THE BRAINS BEHIND THE BAGS.

Green Genius is not just a brand but a collection of people who want to make a difference. We thought we would introduce you to a few of them—professionally and personally:

SAM PAUL

SAM PAUL

What did you do prior to Green Genius?
I'm a serial entrepreneur. Taking great ideas and turning them into great companies is my passion.

What's on your reading list?
Non-fiction written by the great business icons like Jack Welch, Sam Walton, Donald Trump, Tom Peters, General Patton and so on. Oh, and anything on improving my golf game.

What was your last vacation?
Pebble Beach golfing with my 80 year-old dad.

What was your least favorite job?
Busboy/dishwasher in a coffee house, talk about non-green operations. The waste is staggering.

What's your favorite item to recycle?
Anything I can, but my favorite thing is to reuse. My parents grew up in the depression and we didn't throw anything away that could be used again. They were pretty creative and I guess it stuck.

ROB EISENBACH

ROB EISENBACH

What did you do prior to Green Genius?
Marketing and sales on some well-known brands like Otis Spunkmeyer, Kingsford, and Tilex. I also consulted with small startups focused on sustainable products, which is part of how I got here.

What's on your reading list?
I'm reading The Jungle Effect by Daphne Miller. It's about how certain indigenous diets found around the world can reverse chronic illness and optimize your health. It also has a couple of weeks worth of recipes!

How do you reduce your impact?
I'm a huge fan (and supporter) of public transportation! I've also become religious about composting.

What's your favorite item to recycle?
Beer bottles.

What's your favorite color?
Blue. No, green.

What would you rather be doing if you weren't working for Green Genius?
I'm a travel-holic. I've been to about 35 countries, and while this is my dream job, I'm looking forward to my next big trip (Cuba!).

EMILY LONGWAY

EMILY LONGWAY

What did you do prior to Green Genius?
Marketing for innovative food start-ups and Whole Foods Market. The natural products industry has been my home for over 10 years.

How do you reduce your impact?
Compost, recycle, eat local, and support other sustainable companies. You'll also never see me without my reusable water bottle.

What was your last vacation?
The slice of heaven called Kauai. Visiting a local plantation and sampling my way through their sustainable gardens was the highlight!

What's your favorite sport?
Basketball — as a player and fan. The NCAA tournament is always thrilling, and I once played one-on-one with Magic Johnson. Pretty sure he won.

Where would we find you outside of Green Genius?
Enjoying the outdoors, exploring the Bay Area, and looking for creative ways to repurpose wine corks.
